The Financial Records Are a Mess!

The District changed accounting software in 2021 from Xero to QuickBooks.  The District was only paying $37/month subscription for Xero.  This was the software used and recommended by a prior McCoy Accounting CPA firm contracted with the District.  This software was more than adequate to serve the District's needs, allowing multiple users and access for the CPA.  The cost for subscribing to QuickBooks more than tripled to $139/month.

Stephanie Toliver, a 1099 contractor, took over managing the District's financials starting in June 2022.  During this time, she was responsible for transferring the District's financial data from Xero to QuickBooks.

What's the problem?

Stephanie manually keyed in the financial data instead of importing the financials and it caused many errors.

How bad were the errors?

There were no efforts to verify that the financial records matched from Xero to QuickBooks and the financial records did not match.  This means all the data in QuickBooks is unreliable and any report created in QuickBooks is NOT accurate.
